Mary Ann Nickelson of Abilene passed away Saturday, April 18, 2020 with family by her side, at Hendrick Hospice Center in Abilene Viewing will be held Saturday April 25, 2020 from 11-5pm at the Brownwood Funeral Home. Due to the Covid-19 visitors are limited to 10 at a time.
Mary was born April 15, 1961 in Stamford, TX to Leola Green and Charlie Nickerson. Mary received her primary education from Brownwood ISD. She started working at Smitty's BBQ in Brownwood Texas at age 14 and had served customers for over 30 years. Mary loved to cook, and being around friends and family. Mary opened her home to all and would make everyone feel like family. She was a mother to all, and her passion was to always keep her family together.
Mary was preceded in death by Sister Tommie Dale Nickerson, brothers; J.W. Nickerson, Joe Wayne Nickerson, Allen Nickerson, Ronnie Nickerson, and Hubert Nickerson.
Left to cherish her memories are: daughter, Missy Ann Nickerson of Abilene; son, Thurman Nickerson of Abilene, Brothers; Dan Lee Nickerson of Lubbock, Raymond and Christy Nickerson, of Lubbock , Troy and Jackie Nickerson of Dallas, Lloyd Nickerson of Dallas, Charles Nickerson of Brownwood, William Nickerson of Brownwood, sisters Josie and Robert Osborn of Mesquite, Linda Nickerson of Abilene, 4 grandchildren, numerous niece's, nephew's and a host of extended family and many friends.
